"Iras gets tough on hawkers who cook the books" The Straits Times, 9 Oct 2007
This is the latest on the strings of crackdown on hawkers who under declare their income.
It is no surprise to many people that many hawkers earn tons of money. They drive luxury cars, live in big houses, wear rolex ... It's time for me to revisit my career path ...hahaha
But not all hawkers are Millionaires ... many are only living a modest life.
The next time someone boast about his wealth and tell you he's a millionaire, just laugh it off and say you are going to buy char kway tiao from the Millionaire at the neighbourhood center.

Oh yes I agreed! We should perhaps try out to be hawker for half a day and all earnings should go to the Poor! Maybe can try to cook Chay Keow teow!
hahaha. so I found a partner for joint venture to start a char kway teow business.
We should organise a cooking event where participants will each have a stall selling some hawker food and this will bring out the entrepreneur spirit from the youths.
don't u see lots of hawker driving big cars?
